Season 3 of WARDOGS is on its way, and sooner than planned. A launch date of 12 November 2026 is now being reported, though the full details are still to come. This page separates what BULKHEAD has said itself from what is only reported or guessed. It was checked against Season 2 (Update 0.2.0) on 25 October 2026, and we will update it as official information lands.
The short version
- Date: a video titled as a Season 3 release date and first changes reveal says Season 3 is dropping on 12 November. That is Thursday 12 November 2026, four weeks after Season 2 launched. We could not match the date to an official BULKHEAD post, and the latest item on the Steam news page is still the Season 2 launch notice. Treat the date as provisional until BULKHEAD confirms it, and check the maintenance time when it does.
- Timing: this is much earlier than planned. The developers first targeted about six weeks for Season 2.
- Wipe: there was no emergency reset. BULKHEAD ruled out a quick reset over the weekend of 17 to 18 October and chose to bring Season 3 forward instead.
- Next information: BULKHEAD says a new vlog, "Season 2 Reflection & Season 3 Preview", is dropping next week. That should be the best source for the details.
Why Season 3 is arriving early
Season 2 launched on 15 October with the game's first progression wipe. BULKHEAD then said that speeding up progression "was the wrong call". Some players reached end game gear such as Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days, so the wipe never felt like a fresh start.
A backend update on 16 October tackled some of the causes. It removed the Lonestar Cash and XP bonus, fixed driver progression issues and addressed a driver exploit that let players reach tanks too early. Players who abused the exploit were temporarily banned, with their cash and XP reset to 0.
BULKHEAD's explanation is that it cannot balance progression for everyone at once. Season 2 was designed to lean towards players with less time, which quickly restored much of the late-game feel the wipe was meant to remove. Rather than wipe again straight away, the studio chose to move the next season up. For the Season 2 changes themselves, see Season 2: everything new and what changed and Season 2 progression: the wipe, XP and new unlocks.
What has been reported for Season 3
None of this is a full announcement, so treat it as direction rather than a promise.
Night mode
A developer response said night mode is planned for Season 3. Full details on how night gameplay will work have not been given. That comment predates Season 2 and the schedule change, so watch the vlog for whether it still applies to launch.
A skill system, possibly later
BULKHEAD is tracking how much you play roles such as Medic or Pilot. When a skill system arrives, previous gameplay is meant to count retroactively. Skills, Intel and Gunsmith have no dates, so do not expect them on day one of Season 3.
A different unlock order
Each season is meant to use its own XP curve and item order. The Deagle, for example, moved from Wardog level 85 to level 65 in Season 2. The Season 3 curve has not been published, so do not plan around today's level gates. Whether it will be faster or slower is a guess at this stage.
Limited Mode servers
These are not strictly a Season 3 feature. Limited Mode servers with no power weapons or vehicles were being prepared as of the 16 October update, but an opening date has not been confirmed. Our Limited Time Mode guide covers what is known.
What a wipe is likely to do to your progress
Expect it to work like the Season 2 wipe. Cash and XP progression reset at the end of every season, remaining cash is converted into Gold Bars, and Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account.
| What you have | Likely outcome at the wipe |
|---|---|
| Cash | Resets. Leftover Cash converts to Gold Bars |
| Role and Wardog XP | Resets |
| Unlocked weapons, vehicles and gear | Locked again |
| Gold Bars and Gold Market cosmetics | Kept |
That table is a third-party summary, not BULKHEAD's own notes, so check the official announcement before you rely on it. The Gold conversion rate has not been confirmed. That makes hoarding Cash a poor plan.
How to prepare
Play what you enjoy now
Everything you unlock is temporary, so there is little point grinding hard for one item in the last weeks of a season. Try a weapon from a role you have neglected. Our Assault Rifle vs SMG vs LMG guide is a good place to start, and the loadout builder helps you plan kit before you spend.
Skip the exploits
Exploit use has already led to bans and account resets. If something looks too good to be true, report it rather than farm it.
Spend sensibly, not frantically
Do not rush into expensive purchases you will only use for a few days. Buy what improves your play now, such as a better sight or armour you will really wear, and let the rest go. A wipe is a good moment to stop worrying about the grind.
Use the fresh start
A wipe puts everyone back at the same level. That makes it a good time to learn the basics, so the new player first hour guide is worth a read. Early levels also go faster with people who will revive you and share supplies, so squadding up on a squad night is a good idea.
Know where the real news is
Season 2's patch notes and launch announcement appeared on the Steam news page, and BULKHEAD also posts on X. Be cautious of countdown sites and short videos that quote a date without linking to an official post. The studio's own wording has been careful, so wait for the vlog or a Steam announcement before you plan around a specific hour.
Other changes while you wait
BULKHEAD began reducing the maximum server ping to 175ms on 21 October, as part of tackling cheating. That is not the complete region-locking system, and more backend work is under way. If you play across regions, our ping limits guide explains what this means.
