Building and logistics took some of the biggest changes in WARDOGS Season 2. There are three new structures, most defences cost more supplies, hammers can no longer breach doors, and supply runs pay much better when you chain them together. If you like running a forward base or keeping your team stocked, this is what you need to know.
The three new buildables
| Structure | What it is | Supply cost | Tool needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| MG Nest | A manned M2 Browning emplacement | 650 | Large hammer |
| Large Shelter | A large metal shelter | 250 | Medium hammer or higher |
| Wooden Step | A wooden step | Not published | Small hammer or higher |
MG Nest
A fixed M2 Browning that someone has to man. It is the new way to lock down an approach.
- Build it covering a route the enemy has to use, such as a road into your base or the open ground in front of an objective.
- Someone has to sit on it for it to do anything, so plan who that will be.
- A fixed gun is predictable, so give it some cover and expect it to draw attention.
Large Shelter
A big metal shelter for covering key assets. BULKHEAD specifically suggests it for keeping the rain off, which ties in with the new rain weather. Use it to cover the things you most want to protect at a forward base.
Wooden Step
A simple step for reaching higher spots. Useful for getting onto ledges and walls you could not climb before. Its supply cost has not been published yet.
Supply costs have gone up
Many structures now cost noticeably more supplies, so a forward base takes more deliveries to build out:
| Structure | Season 1 | Season 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Bremmer wall | 15 | 32 |
| Door | 22 | 80 |
| Gate | 85 | 200 |
| Air raid shelter, bunker, crow’s nest | 100 | 200 |
| L81 Mortar | 150 | 600 |
| Stingray | 150 | 650 |
| Talon 9K-SAM | 1,000 | 650 |
| Vanguard CIWS | 1,500 | 1,200 |
| Hot Zone Magnet | 2,250 | 2,750 |
The anti-air pieces went the other way: the Talon and CIWS are cheaper to build, though the Talon now reloads in 5 seconds instead of 2 and costs four times as much to restock.
What this means for you: a mortar or a Stingray is a real investment now. Agree as a squad what you are building before you start, rather than everyone spending supplies on their own ideas.
Breaching: bring a Halligan Bar
Hammers can no longer breach doors or gates. The Halligan Bar can breach both. If your plan involves getting into an enemy-held building, make sure someone in the squad is carrying one.
Drill Rig changes
The Drill Rig needs more fuel to start and runs for less time:
- Minimum activation fuel: 1,500 to 2,000.
- Maximum uptime: 375 to 300 seconds.
Logistics pays better when you chain it
Season 2 rewards drivers who keep the supply line moving. Each delivery in a row pays a bonus on top of the normal reward:
| Delivery | Bonus each | Counts up to |
|---|---|---|
| Crates | +$100 and 50 XP | 10 in a row |
| Pallets | +$250 and 100 XP | 10 in a row |
| Players | +$25 and 5 XP | 25 in a row |
| Return trips | +$50 and 25 XP | 10 in a row |
Destroying an enemy FOB is also worth up to $7,500 and 250 XP.
How to make the most of it:
- Pick a dedicated driver. One person doing back-to-back runs builds the streak far faster than several people doing one run each.
- Use a cheap, fast vehicle. The new Wolf-110 ($2,200) is ideal for quick runs. See our vehicles guide.
- Bring players as well as supplies. Ferrying your team to the front counts too, up to 25 in a row.
- Protect your own FOB. If the enemy can earn up to $7,500 for destroying it, they will try.
A good Season 2 base routine
- Decide what the base needs first: usually cover and a way to hold the main approach.
- Start a supply streak straight away with one dedicated driver.
- Build an MG Nest on the main approach once supplies allow, and agree who mans it.
- Use a Large Shelter over anything you need to keep safe, especially in rain.
- Keep a Halligan Bar in the squad for breaching.
Running a base is far more fun with a squad that talks. For everything else in the update, see WARDOGS Season 2: everything new.
